Take Bob, the Painter. He spends endless hours trying to put together a simply flyer/coupon on his home computer. His graphics knowledge is limited, and he is not sure how to best arrange his information to get the best impact for his buck. After endless hours, he has a set design and begins printing on his home inkjet printer. He now has a heft stack of 1500 flyers (and a highly abused printer with no remaining toner) that he spends the next week distributing. Assuming his flyer is effective, within a few days time, he gets a phone call, and after going to their house, some negotiation, and a finalized quote, he gets 1 client. Although it took about a week before he started the job, he is excited and begins work immediately. Upon finishing the job, he goes back home, try's to improve his flyer, and again starts the process all over again. If he is lucky, he may get 1 to 2 jobs a month, and this is an optimistic view.
